Stay Healthy Around the 4th!

If you have chronic health issues, holidays and summer vacations can be hectic. Whether you're traveling to the beach or staying local to celebrate the Fourth of July, it's important to stay safe and healthy while enjoying yourself. Here are some tips for feeling your best on Independence Day.

  1. Hydrate. The heat and humidity can make even the healthiest of people feel exhausted. If you know you'll be outdoors enjoying the fireworks on the 4th, be sure to drink extra water a few days before, and the day of activities, to prepare your body. 
  2. Limit time outside. The heat can take its toll on you rather quickly. If you have any outdoor activities planned, be sure to take breaks and go inside when you need to cool off. Look for shady spots to stay out of the direct sun light during the heat of the day.
